So its been some time since I wrote on this blog its due to the fact that I have moved domains and have gone to blogspot as I feel this place is not doing me justice and so I’ve moved to BlogSpot, so the new address is http://wip-daonet.blogspot.com/ where It will be purely work based I also I have a blog for my rants and what not also on blog spot as it will be easier to monitor when every thing is over there, I’m currently but slowly working on my new site so new content is being constructed as I type this to my side with a few concept designs or characters and environment. I’m having fun with this process so far and hope you will join me on my new blog and site to view the work. So for the last time I bid you farewell word press and the viewers and hope to see you on the other blog.

ComiCon 2010 Under way

So I’m a bit late on the entry for Comicon 2010 Game Artisan competition, however with the deadline in October I have a lot to work ahead of me but i belive it is possible for me to do it. So the brief was to choose a comic book character hero or villain and age him or her either way, for example if I took Batman with his regular age being mid age I could create a really old version or a younger version of him so this allows great creativity with the model learning the difference in age process. So the character I have chosen is Two-face as I wanted to have the chance to go into fine detail as most super heroes do have their accessories and create a strong silhouette with the most recognizable character however with other fellow artist going in that direction i thought it be Pretty interesting to create two face and allow me to improve my skills as i have not done this much detail on a character before.

So these long three years at uni doesn#t feel so long at all, time flew by just like that. so what now?  first things first is to get ready to move back down london, well I’ve still got a month left on my house contract. might as well use it up. So the next step is to get into the games industry :T can’t wait finally be able to contribute to the world in one way or another haha, so i got to get my name out there , wonder how long that’s going to take? hmm well the first step was to do this assessment for a job I would hope more industry wold do this as I would be nice to know what they want to see rather than what they don’t, as by giving out assessments to do is what industry is like right? you get given a concept or asset to work from and deliver well that’s what I’m going to do to the best of my knowledge, and built up my portfolio this time round. However for the mean time I will get a part-time job to basically stay alive

So these are the four main hero’s of the game i am working on most of my part is done so in one month or so it will be all over. lets hope i did enough to get a good mark =3

Modules going according to plan :)

Well from the title they are ^^, things are falling into place nicely…. however theres things keeping my mind off track and its not helping at all. Iwon’t go into it as thers no point, best hope for the best as theres really nothing i can do about it, unless i drop every thing and head back down south to sort it out, but i think it is in my best intrest to say at uni and try my best to hold on. :T. so the november month has started so on to the work load i set my self, till next time tack care all

A brand new year that just got harder.

So the new year of my uni life will start off soon, and well i can honestly say i was not looking forward to it at the begining of the summer but now settled into my new house of awesomeness, a relaxing summer and a new vision for the future. I feel i can handle My Final year of uni, even though i would of hoped for a placement for this sandwich year but we can’t have every thing we want can we?

So well what is my plan for tackling final year? WORK MY ASS OFF!!!! yea none of this lazying around bullshit its time for some serious work, more importantly a bit more responsibility, therefore i have signed up for the secretary position for the climbing Society in which my house mate is the chair man of. so the first task  will be organizing the Varsity event that is going to be held at my uni on the 7th of october not long :S but i think i can do it as long i have the info i need to get started. Emotional Clutter

Well its been a long time since I’ve been this way and well I’ve never was a fan ¬¬ so, while in the mist of my mind, it got me thinking on why i revert back to this dreadful place, so why not look it up on the net and well it was due to emotional clutter “things from the past” i quote and so i read this extract from a writer who reminded me of someone i knew who was as deep as this extract here, these things from the past is whats stopping me from achieving my goals as people say the past is what makes us the person we are today but what if you don’t like the person you are currently? what is a person to do now? So soon as this weekend comes and goes im going to throw things out the window not literally lol. but start again hoping its not to late i mean im going to be twenty this year and well that is one fifth of my life roughly gone and i’ve got the rest to live up for, so why not make it the best years of my life while im still young

Second year of uni gone, on to placement or gap year?

Well my second year of uni has finished, with all my degrees handed in on time and well 3d foundation is being a f^%$ wit and will not let me upload my work for the uni well. well as long its in the hand in office it should be fine right ? well i hope so because this year has gone so fast i feel like I’m sadly not ready for final year as was hoping for a placement to learn some more but it doesn’t look like its happening, so what is my plan well I’ve decided if i don’t get a placement my best option is to take a gap year, taking a full time retail job to support my rent as, the government won’t give me money to take a year out lol. so first thing first find a house, it seems like there is a place for me but its still on the balance of what everyone is up to as they are roughly in the same boat as me, so if they get a job i’ll be living in one of the housings, from what i’ve heard its crap. so in the next few weeks i can relax till i have to get things sorted. on a plus note im dead please with all my modules except drawing and composition 2 not that much fun for me the way it was layout was terrible, but what can i do? but let it be so this future gap year I’m going to home my modeling skills and understand it a whole lot more with reading, and studying of modeling techniques, hoping to make tones of s&^% hot models ^^.

Three Weeks Left Untill Submission dates :S

Well its come to the end of the second year for me at uni at Teesside, with only 3 weeks which was suppose to be my Easter break :*( but all well it couldn’t be helped, as i have showed my character modelling module to the lecturer to see if its OK/if its getting a past well happy with the model under the polygon requirements which was 10,000. Gave him a axe weapon, textured him, rig, him, and so i show the lecturer and well lets say he wasn’t impressed, so he pointed a lot of faults which i didn’t see,and they were all valid harsh, but valid. so a week back roughly i started him again, well i mean redo him as if i redid him i would not past this year. But at my amazement after studying what was need like the typology and the function of curtain objects like shoulder armour, my character looks way!! better and i have saved about 1,500 polygons which i can used to freely but won’t as the idea is to use a low polygon model which looks as shit hot as a high res model would, any modellers out there that reads this will understand, but further do the model has come a long way, and i’m very pleased with it . Phew That was  a lot to write lol, i’ll upload the final model on my site if you want to have a check.(note the blue model that’s on there now is my old one a preview of my current one is above

Website up and running !!

Well its been a long time since i’ve written a post, so my lastest post will be about my very own website that is up and running as how i would like it to be doing lol. So it started about 4 or more weeks before hand, as my house mate introduced me to Awardspace  a web hosting site in which i can make a site using formats like Html,css and Flashscripts for which took me some time to learn. but any who after learning and playing around with the layout i liked, it was on to hosting it on a real domain, so in order for me to have it without awardspace taged along my address, in which i felt was unprofesstional, so futhermore i got a great deal of  30$ something  for 36 month which kinda works out at under a pound for a domain which i can edit any time i want which is not a bad deal. So i,ve got it linked up to my deviantArt page and this blog page and also a gallery page which took me a whole day to figure out how to do and make it work but it was worth it at the end of the day ^^.
